Big Mouth Monster
This big mouthed monster friend can be made as-is or with pieces from my add-on packs! They can be made with any size yarn so you can make big giant monsters down to teeny tiny derpy friends!
Written in US terms. This pattern is completely no-sew. The arms, mouth, teeth, and eyes are all worked in as you crochet and then head is closed with a flat sl st seam (instructions included in pattern). This pattern is fully tested and there are lots of pictures and detailed instructions to help you make your monster buddy!
Supplies needed:
-Yarn in main color for body and arms. Super bulky plush takes 97yds for body and arms but different yarn sizes will vary.
-Yarn in accent colors for mouth and eyes (same size yarn)
-Yarn one size down for teeth (or any size you like for bigger/smaller teeth!)
-Hook at least two sizes smaller than yarn suggests. I use 7mm for super bulky plush monsters.
-Safety eyes
-Fiberfill stuffing
-Tapestry needle
-Stitch markers
Here are a few examples of sizing (arm to arm and head to foot) based on different yarn sizes used:
-Bernat Blanket (super bulky plush), 7mm hook = 10” wide/tall
-Loops & Threads Charisma (bulky), 5mm hook = 7” wide/tall
-Caron (worsted), 4mm hook = 5” wide/tall
