Super bulky yarn makes a pixie hat with a retro ’70s vibe. In red with a white cuff, it’s suitable for Santa himself. It’s also stylish in bright primaries for a pop of winter color.

The pixie point can be encouraged -- or, for more sedate occasions, discouraged by flattening with your palm.

This is a quick and easy pattern. It’s worked from the top down in spiral rounds.
