October’s free pattern!

The first big river hat was knit as a gauge swatch for my big river beach sweater and has become a favorite in my wardrobe. I usually wear it with the slightly-flat crown pulled to the side with a big antique silver kilt pin, but it also works well as a simple beanie, pulled straight down over the ears.
