The finished Blue Gnome with hat is approximately 14 inches (36 cm) tall.
The toys are knitted in the round and that is why the pattern is recommended for Advanced Beginner Knitters.
Abbreviations
K = knit
P = purl
Sts = stitches
Kfb = knit into front and back of stitch
Pfb = purl into front and back of stitch
K2tog = knit 2 together
P2tog = purl 2 together
K3tog = knit 3 together
CO = cast on
RND = round
St st = stockinette stitch /Odd-numbered rows – knit. Even-numbered rows – purl/
Sl = slip
edge st = edge stitch ( Slip the first stitch and purl the last )
C2F= Cable 2 forward: put next 2 stitches on cable needle at front of work, knit 2, knit the 2 from the cable needle.
C3F= Cable 3 forward: put next 3 stitches on cable needle at front of work, knit 3, knit the 3 from the cable needle.
C4F= Cable 4 forward: put next 4 stitches on cable needle at front of work, knit 4, knit the 4 from the cable needle.
C5F = Cable 5 forward: put next 5 stitches on cable needle at front of work, knit 5, knit the 5 from the cable needle.
Materials needed
• 4 double-pointed needles size US 6 (4 mm).
• White, blue and red colored yarns for doll. I used Katia Peru ( 40% Wool, 40% Acrylic, 20% Alpaca; 100gr (3.5 oz) = 106m (115 yds) ). /Yarn weight - Chunky /
• Toy stuffing
• Yarn needle
• Stitch holder
You can use any weight of yarn and suitable needles size for it. For example Red Gnome with hat is approximately 10,5 inches (28 cm) tall. I used for it:
• 4 double-pointed needles size US 2 (3 mm).
• White and red colored yarns for doll. I used Nako Pirlanta yarn / 100% Acrylic; 100 gr (3.5oz) – 225 m (246 yds)./ Yarn weight - Worsted /12-Ply
