> Bilayer Mittens

Bilayer Mittens
This is a straightforward pattern; you will essentially knit two mittens onto each other to produce a seamless, double-layer (bilayer) mitten. The result is super soft, squishy and warm.
One thing to bear in mind when selecting yarn is that the outer mitten will be visible and the lining will not, but will be in constant contact with your skin. As such, if you plan to use two colours of yarn (as I did) it is recommended that you use more aesthetically pleasing yarn for the outside, and yarn with a more skin-friendly texture for the inside.
If you want different yarn for inside and outside, then you will need equal yardage of both - that is to say 170yds of each colour, adding up to the total yardage shown above.
Finished Measurements:
- Width: 11cm
- Length: 18cm (excluding cuff) / 23.5cm (including cuff)
Gauge in Metric: 20 rows = 7.5cm / 20sts = 11cm
These are a simple knit, worked seamlessly in the round with afterthought thumbs, and will keep your hands super warm!
