Bilberry Fingerless Mitts
Bands of bilberry leaves wrap around these mitts, creating a pretty pattern and extra warmth due to the stranded inside. These mitts are quick to knit with fun colour work to keep you engaged. The mitts are finished with a twisted rib cuff at the wrists and band across the fingers.
Constructed with a combination of knitting both flat & in-the-round, there is no seaming required and minimal finishing off.
Skills Required
The pattern includes written instructions with charts for the colour work. The mitt is knitted in-the-round and flat at various stages.
Yarn
1 x 50g ball WOOLganic Merino in Grapefruit Moon
1 x 50g ball WOOLganic Merino in Gondwana or chosen colour
Or 4ply/ fingering weight wool that gives correct tension. If substituting, try to use a raw wool yarn to get the best finish in the colour work.
The finished pair uses a total of 30g yarn, so there is leftover yarn if you wish to lengthen the mitts.
Needles
3.25mm circular needle of at least 80cm length (for magic looping) or size to obtain gauge.
Feel free to change to your preferred needle/ method for working in-the-round.
