Binky Baby Spencer
I am so happy to introduce you to Binky Baby Spencer!
I have wanted so long to have a big and cute crochet baby and I have bought so many patterns, you
wouldn’t believe. They were either too difficult, too small, too big or I just never got around to tryi
them.
Not to say that some of them aren’t terrific patterns, I just prefer my patterns to be fairly quick a
easy!
I am tickled with the size of this doll and the interactive parts.
I can see a child playing with this doll as a keepsake for years to come!
Add a little weight in the bottom and it can be an emotional support doll for a dementia/alzheimer
patient.
I even made the diaper in a pull up style so it’s easy to put on and remove.
The pattern includes everything you see here and some things you don’t!
Beanie, booties, diaper, bottle, bib, teddy bear and a curly Q hair on the top of it’s head, a belly button
and a butt crack!
Everything in this pattern is almost NO SEW! The only sewing is the ears and the binky mouth to the
baby’s head and the muzzle on the bear.
This pattern is designed to be used with super bulky 6 weight for everything but the booties and
beanie, BUT it can be made with worsted weight also by using 1 full size smaller hook size on the
booties and beanie.
I used Big Twist Posh with a 5.5 mm hook and it is about 11” tall sitting.
It takes less than a skein of yarn for the entire baby.
The booties and beanie are made with worsted weight but with the same hook size. As long as you keep
the same tension as you used for the doll it will work.
You can use any weight to make the baby and accessories but the beanie and booties will be too small if
you use the same hook size. Also, the binky will not fi
I used 25 mm round safety eyes.
The binky is a regular baby sized pacifie
I added real diaper pins but that is only for looks, you don’t actually have to open them as the diaper is a
pull up design.
I used yuyo, yarn under yarn over for everything except the hdc in the beanie.
You can use worsted weight for everything! One of my testers used 1 size smaller hook size for the
booties and beanie and it turned out perfect!
