Birch Block Cardigan is a simple V-neck cardigan with a little twist in its construction. Each sleeve is worked from the cuff to the shoulder, then continued to the center of the upper body, using short rows and increasing stitches to shape. Right and left halves are joined at the back. Stitches for the lower body are picked up and worked down to hem, with pocket openings along the way. Button/buttonhole band and pocket linings are also picked up from the body.

Recommended ease: 5-15 cm / 2-6” of positive ease (sample shown in Size M with 8 cm / 3¼” ease)

Birch Block Cardigan は一見するとシンプルなVネックの、しかし編む順番と構成に少し工夫のあるカーディガンです。それぞれの袖を手首から肩へ、続けて引き返し編みや増目で形を整えながら身頃の中心まで編み、背中の中心で左右をつなぎます。そうしてできた上半身のパーツから目を拾い、途中にポケット口を開けながら裾まで進みます。身頃から目を拾い前立てとポケットの内袋を編んで完成です。
