A worthy addition to my Anne of Green Gables collection of patterns, the Birch Path Socks have simple birch leaf lace on the front, with a tall birch trunk evoked in the middle. Alongside the gorgeous birch trees, you will find the path itself, textured and zigzagging throughout the trees on the back of the sock, and onto the heel.

These socks will fly off your needles, and keep you entertained the whole time!

YARN
Woolberry Fiber Co. “Homemade Jam” on their Berry Sock base.

NEEDLES
2.25mm (US 1), 100cm (40”) circular needles, or needles needed to obtain gauge

GAUGE
8-9 stitches per 1” in stockinette stitch

OTHER NOTES
The socks are knit cuff down, but could easily be knit toe up as well.

Pattern is written for the magic loop method. If you would like to knit with DPNs you can instead work instructions for first needle across 1st and 2nd DPNs and work the instructions for the second needle across 3rd and 4th DPNs.

Included in this pattern are three sizes Small (Medium, Large), sizes are based off of foot circumference, not finished length!
Small - for a foot circumference of approx. 8-9 inches (20-22.5cm)
Medium - for a foot circumference of approx. 9-10 inches (2.25-25cm)
Large - for a foot circumference of approx. 10-11 inches (25-27.5cm)

Pattern includes a heel flap and gusset. If you prefer you may substitute any heel pattern you like.

The pattern is both written and charted.
