Bird of Prey
Huge and airy fishnet triangle shawl with an optional clasp and lots and lots of fringe. This pattern utilizes the most basic crochet stitches: just chains and single crochet – perfect for a first-time hooker!
You can make this shawl with any yarn and any size hook – try a half shawl if you want something smaller or a lighter weight yarn if you want a finer mesh!
YARN
Approx. 400g super bulky weight yarn – shown in
Loops & Threads Cozy Wool 50% wool/50% acrylic;
4.5oz/90yds Black, 4 balls

MATERIALS
US size M/N (9mm) crochet hook
One approx. 2-inch sew-on metal clasp (pictured)
Sewing needle and thread to match yarn
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Approx. six feet wide and four feet long (with fringe)
Custom size options: You can make this shawl in any yarn on any size hook – just crochet the base chain until it measures your desired “wingspan”. Try a half shawl if you want something smaller or a lighter weight yarn if you want a finer mesh.

Tip: Join new balls of yarn at the beginning of a row. Tie the loose yarn ends in a square knot and disguise them as part of the fringe.
