Swans? Ducks? This abstract bird pattern comes from an old hand-me-down sweater whose origins are unknown. It’s not a perfect tessellation, as there are some unused gaps in the pattern, but it still evokes the interlocking patterns popularized by M.C. Escher. Use this chart with your own needles, yarn, gauge and choice of project. The original sweater was stranded (and incredibly thick and bulky), but I would probably work the motifs in intarsia knitting. Distribute, use, and adapt at will.
