I recently moved from Idaho to Washington, where I discovered that there is an actual Fall season in some places in the world - instead of a couple of months that oscillate between summer and winter. :)

As such, I needed a light weight cowl. I didn’t want something that was too heavy or long. I only wanted something that would wrap around my neck twice.

Knitted on US size 4 (3.5mm) needles, this cowl measures 18 inches in diameter, and almost 6 inches high. The rib pattern provides stretch to the cowl, so its not too snug around the neck, but doesn’t “hang” much either.

I used Zitron Unisono for this pattern in colorway 1205. Although this yarn is classified as a sport weight yarn, to me it seems to be a light sport weight or even a heavy sock weight (its in the sock weight yarn section at my local yarn store). As with all knitting that needs to be a certain size, please knit a test swatch and check your gauge. Cast on 30 stitches, join them in the round, and see what gauge you are knitting. The pattern is so easy to adjust for just the right fit.
