Bird's Eye Shawl
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
This shawl is knitted from the bottom up in garter stitch. The left and right side edgings are knitted at the same time as the center triangle.
The unique construction allows you to use every last gram of your yarn without fear of running out of yarn before you’ve finished. You just have to reserve enough to do the picot bind off. This makes the shawl easily resizable and also allows for easy yarn substitution.
It requires 600 meters (660 yards) heavy lace weight to fingering weight yarn. The sample used 2 balls (50g) Filatura Di Crosa Superior; 70% Cashmere / 30% Silk (302m/25g)
The finished shawl measures 203 cm (80 in) from tip-to-tip along top edge, and 102 cm (40 in) from center back to bottom point.
