Birds of a Feather Handwarmers
These fair isle handwarmers are inspired by the birds playing along the hedge rows near my home!
The fair isle design is identical on the front and the back of each handwarmer. This means that the right and left handwarmers are identical and gives a beautiful mirror image of the fair isle design when putting your hands palm up and together (as shown in the photos).
The pattern includes instructions for three sizes: Small, Medium, and Large. The knuckle circumference for each of these sizes are: 7” (18cm) for size small, 8” (20.5cm) for size medium, and 9” (23cm) for size large.
The handwarmers are knit in the round from the bottom up on double pointed 3mm (2.5US) needles.
The sample is knit with fingering weight yarn, Jamieson’s 2-Ply Spindrift (Shetland Wool) with three colours, 1 ball of each: Eggshell (768), Teviot (136), and Port Wine (293). One ball is 25 grams / 105 meters.
Hope you enjoy the pattern! Happy knitting!
