This pattern is available for free.

A little bird hides in the vines and berries of these color work mittens. Knit up the vines in three different colors or use a yarn with long color changes.

This pattern contains a chart for each hand so the pattern is mirrored with the bird facing the thumb. The main charts make a mitten that is 7” long but there is also a third chart to make both the hand and thumb each .5” longer.

325yds/71g fingering weight yarn, 195 yds/42g for MC, 130yds/28g for CC, scrap black for bird’s eye. I used Knit Picks Palette in Hazelnut (MC), 56yds/12g Turmeric, 37yds/8g Marsala, and 37yds/8g Pimento. (Amounts are based on making the longer mittens.)
