BIRNIR
BIRNIR is a child’s sweater knitted from the bottom up and featuring ribbing at the bottom and sleeve cuffs, with slight funnel neck and a touch of diamond lace and accenting bobbles down the front.
Sizes:
0-6 months
6-12 months
1-2 years
2-4 years
4-6 years
6-8 years
8-10 years
Yarn: Any aran weight yarn that matches gauge. I used Drops Nepal.
Yardage: 656, 656 // 738, 738, 820 // 902, 984 yds.
Note that this is approximate as it depends on the individual knitter, whether they knit firm, tight or loose..
Equipment:
“hat size circulars” work well for this project.
size 7 (4.5mm) circular needle, 16-20”
size 7 (4.5mm) double-pointed needles
size 8 (5mm) circular needle, 16-20”
size 8 (5mm) double-pointed needles
favorite stitch-markers
darning needle or crochet hook to weave in ends.
Gauge: 17 stitches stockinette stitches w/sz 8 needle = 4 inches.
