The “Birthday Cowl” is a comfy hug which keeps you warm in the colder months. The colorwork motif is knitted in the round and therefore creates two layers to protect your neck from the cold. If you need even more warmth, the wider size gives you the opportunity to cozy up in four layers by folding the cowl lengthwise.

You cast on using the provisional caston and finish with a kitchener stitch bind-off to create an invisible seam in the round.
The contrasting “dip stitches” add a textural element and make the knitting process of the “Birthday Cowl” a varied experience. A provided video tutorial supports you to get this technique just right.

SIZES
The “Birthday Cowl” comes in 2 sizes that differ in width and length.

• Sample 1 (beige, blue, green) is the narrower (18cm wide) and longer (65cm circumference).
• Sample 2 (green, yellow) is wider (32 cm wide) and shorter (58 cm circumference). It is intended to be worn folded in half lengthwise, so that your neck is protected from even the coldest wind by four layers of knitted fabric.

MATERIALS
Yarn: any sport weight yarn with a meterage of 300m or 328yards / 100g.
--> You need one 100g skein each for your color 1 and color 2.
Note: If you want to use more than 2 colors, you need about 10g (18g) of each color per 1 repeat of the Colorwork Chart.

Sample 1 (beige, blue, green): Brooklyn Tweed Arbor 145yards / 50g in the colorways: Degas (beige), Dorado (blue), Parka (green)
