Birthday Girl Scarf
I made this scarf for my friend’s birthday. It consists of a knitted repeating fan pattern knit with DK yarn on large needles to keep it open and lacey with a crocheted central flower/medallion. There is a bound off fringe at the ends of the scarf. I wasn’t intending to share the pattern when I designed it, but I like how it turned out, so I’m sharing. Beware of my crocheting instructions though: this was the first time I’ve picked up a hook in thirty years. You might want to make your flower first to make sure that my crocheting instructions work for you before committing to the rest of the design. Upside: I made the middle flower three times before finding my favorite version, and none took longer than an hour, so you can play around with it a bit without sinking too much time into it.
I made this with remnants from Knotical, so I don’t have a specific yardage, but it was way less than one skein. You can make it longer or shorter depending upon your taste.
