Bistro Shawl
With broad flat areas of flat texture highlighted by a simple lace trellis, Bistro Shawl is perfect for variegated and kettle-dyed yarns that can be difficult to appreciate in a lace shawl. The simple pattern is easy to wear and compliments many different occasions but is especially well-suited to keeping you warm enjoying a drink al fresco when the weather just isn’t cooperating or the sun has set.
Bistro Shawl is easily adjusted to be larger or smaller by knitting more or fewer repeats of the main pattern. You may also change the textured portion of the shawl by switching reverse stockinette for plain stockinette.
Gauge is looser than usual for fingering weight yarns and creates a fabric with a lot of drape. It also means that you can easily substitute sportweight yarn without much change in size, though the amount of yarn used may change.
Very special thanks to my test knitters chookiegirl, Manda-B, TreysMom, and susannesims - rock stars!
