Bitchin' Hair Band

From Pattern Notes:
“Where I live at least, once the weather starts getting warm and the humidity starts hanging in the air, two things become more challenging:
- working knit goods into my wardrobe;
- making my hair do anything except get all frizzy and goofy.
To make myself look more presentable and show off a little project, I put together this head band. It goes across the top of the head, then joins at the back of the neck (either with a piece of elastic to make it snugger, or without). The tails flop down on to the shoulders, with no unsightly under-hair bulge caused by tying them into a knot.
The yarn I used is Debbie Bliss’ new Cathay, a beautiful cotton/ silk/ viscose blend. I find this gives the scarf great drape and comes in lovely boho-Bollywood-summertime-chic colors. If you buy one each of the three colors, you will have enough left over for at least a second, one of these—a good opportunity to experiment with a new yarn without much investment. If Cathay is not your thing, however, you could really use any DK weight yarn that won’t insulate your head too much.
