The pattern repeat here is 28 stitches. This seriously affects the sizing that is possible with the pattern repeating all around. In fact, it is only possible for a very small coat, one medium-sized coat and a large one. One could, of course, use a slightly heavier or lighter yarn to change the gauge and hence the size.
