Bitty Bear Hat is a baby/toddler-sized hat knit in the round from the bottom up. The hat starts with a 2x2 rib and then continues in stockinette stitch. Bear ears are knit separately and then sewn securely onto the hat. A unique crown shaping is used to ensure that the ears are properly aligned onto the hat.

22 stitches and 30 rows equals 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch using US Size 6 (4.0mm) knitting needles

Smaller Needle: US Size 5 (3.75 mm) – sixteen inch circular needles or 32 inch circular needles for Magic Loop
Main Needle: US Size 6 (4.0 mm) – sixteen inch circular needles or 32 inch circular needles for Magic Loop
Main Needle: US Size 6 (4.0 mm) – Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) or a longer circular needle for Magic Loop.
If you need a different size for the main needle to obtain the correct gauge, go down 1 needle size for the smaller needle.
