These socks came about as part of a conversation , that I had with my knitting friend and partner-in-crime :) I remarked, that I had some black and orangey coloured yarn, and “Wouldnt that look good as a pair of bee stripey socks…..” and so they , the socks,were born….

The pattern like me is relatively simple, and ringing the changes with different colours of yarns would make for different socks. Red and White two row striped socks for Wheres Wally/Waldo socks, a favourite football teams colours ( its never to late to get a child interested in football , rugby , Aussie rules, American Football….).

Once, Id worked out the mechanics of getting the stripes even i.e start in a black yarn and end in a black yarn,( even if I had to add an extra cheeky row ,) then the actuall knitting of the socks was quick, and makes for a perfect quirky gift or give away. A hat and mitts may follow - complete with ….. well wait and see ….. ; )

Enjoy making these in the original colours or go crazy :) As always this is a free pattern, my Angel Policy being - make as many as you like to sell for charity or personal profit, but please, please dont claim this as your own pattern . Thats naughty .
