Cool shoes for flat-footed dolls on hot days!

These espadrilles are designed to fit 1/3 scale curvy ball-jointed dolls with feet that are approximately 67 mm (2 5/8 inches) long and 24 mm (1 inch) wide such as Smart Dolls and less expensive UCanaan dolls.

They are knit bottom-up with ~18 yds. (~17 m) of Size 10 crochet thread using a long flexible circular needle and a Magic Loop. Starting at the bottom center of the foot, sole shaping occurs with increases in the round before transitioning to back-and-forth short rows for the uppers.

A bottom sole, knit separately, cradles the midsoles that are cut from layers of 2 mm thick craft foam.

Loops at the heels anchor crochet chain ankle ties.
