Summary: The cuff and leg are knit flat and seamed, while the heel and foot are knitted in the round on double pointed needles.
Yarn information: 200-300 g worsted weight wool yarn.
Sizing: All patterns in the book are written for calves measuring 15-17” at the widest point.
From the pattern description: “Pipers playing laments at funerals wear black hose. In white these may also be worn as formal hose, in another color Black Bear would be considered daywear. Can also be used for hiking socks. Difficulty rating: moderate.”
