Black holes are the final stage of large stars in the current universe. These large stars stop being able to fuel themselves with nuclear fusion, and their gravity causes them to collapse to the point where not even electrons and neutrons can hold up the star. This is why stellar sized black holes are sometimes called collapsars.

This pattern is for the way spacetime is warped next to the black hole, a shape called “Flamm’s paraboloid”. The PDF contains the basic paraboloid pattern, but also 2 embroidery designs for a static (Schwarzschild) black hole, and a rotating (Kerr) black hole.

Both models don’t need much yarn, so definitely look through your stash for scrap yarn!
