Black Narcissist
Take a generic black asymmetric bias triangle, slash it with contrasting wedges of bright colour and you have something quite narcissistic.
This basic knit is enhanced by knitting drop stitch rows at regular intervals. Because they widen towards the bottom edge this modifies the shape giving it more curvature; but it still retains the asymmetry that gives one tapering end that looks so attractive when worn.
The pattern is designed for any weight of yarn from fingering to worsted and you can continue to knit until you reach the size you desire (or run out of yarn!)
There is a beading option for lighter weight yarns.
For the samples I used 250g MC + 50g CC for the black fingering shawl (220cm wingspan) and 300g MC worsted + 100g chunky for the blue shawl.(160cm wingspan)
It looks particularly good if one of the colours is a gradient or long colour change yarn, though would also work with bright scraps and a solid base.
