Black Orchid
This pattern is can be crocheted in two sizes (Large: 7 cm (2 3/4”) and Small: 5 cm (2”)) by changing the hook and thread size. This pattern shows step by step guide (w/pictures) that includes painting and assembly. I recommend at least six flowers, at least one of each bud, two large leaves, and one small leaf for a finished plant.
Materials
Hook - Large: 1.5mm (Small: 1.00mm)
Cotton Crochet Thread
Size 10 (Large) or 20 (Small)

Fabric paint (I used fuchsia)
Round beads: 8mm (Large) or 6mm (Small) to match your fabric paint
Green floral tape (optional but highly recommended)
Stitches
st = stitch
sl st = slip stitch
sk = skip
beg = beginning
tr = treble crochet
dtr=double treble crochet
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
hdc = half double crochet
st#tog = use number of specified st together
ex: sc2tog: sc 2 st together
Special Instructions:
Work in a well lit area when using black thread as the stitches are harder to see.
Feel free to contact me if you would like larger images.
All beginning st are in the same st as the sl st, ch 1.
It is best to crochet tails in as you go to eliminate extra work weaving them in at the end.
You can use green yarn for the stem instead of floral tape but the stickiness of the tape helps with assembly and it holds the piece together better. Floral tape is quite cheap online and in various colors.
