Please note, this is a crochet pattern, not the finished hat.

Small: fits approximate 19”-20½” head circumference (3 years-6 years)
Medium: fits approximate 20½”-22” head circumference (5 years-teen/adult)
Large: fits approximate 22½”-24” head circumference (Large adult)

YARN: Caron Simply Soft 142g/5oz; 228m/250yds per skein
or equivalent; worsted/4 /medium weight
Main color (MC) Charcoal Heather (estimated amounts for hats with earflaps)
Small 76g/3¼oz; 125m/165yds
Medium 84g/3½oz; 135m/175yds
Large 93g/4oz; 150m/200yds

Small amount white (teeth), orange (eye), black (pupil) and red (mouth)

HOOKS/NOTIONS: Stitch markers, yarn needle, small amount of poly-fiberfill

H (5.00 mm) or size needed to obtain correct gauge
F (3.75 mm) or 2 sizes smaller than gauge hook

NOTES: Pattern is written using standard US stitches.
ch=chain
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
blo = back loop only
sc2tog = single crochet 2 together (decrease)
RS = right side, the exterior of the hat
WS = wrong side, the interior of the hat
magic circle/adjustable ring See included tutorial.
invisible decrease Insert hook under front loop of 1st stitch. Insert hook under front loop of 2nd stitch. Yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook, yarn over and pull through last 2 loops on hook.
reverse sc (crab stitch) Without turning work, single crochet from left to right.
