These should fit calves up to 15” circumference and over a pair of jeans. They are easily modified to fit larger or smaller legs.

Gauge is determined with the US 7 circular needle, the US 9 is for binding off only.

These boot cuffs are worked two-at-a-time. This pattern assumes you are familiar with casting on two open tubes.

Additionally, there are two books with different techniques, these are:

Circular Knitting Workshop by Margaret Radcliffe, or
2-at-a-time Socks by Melissa Morgan-Oakes.

I use a modified version of Melissa’s cast on, but please use the one you’re most comfortable with.

One skein of yarn is sufficient to do about 2 pair (or more if doing ankle boot cuffs). Either divide the skein into two equal weight balls, or buy two skeins and get about 5 pair for gifts. I used two skeins for simplicity.
