A very whimsical pattern. It might be a bit challenging for beginners, but I added lots of photos and there are videos linked in the pattern if you need to see how its done.

This pattern uses 3.5 mm hook and weight 4 yarn in a variety of colors. The colors and brand I used is listed in the pattern.

Very fast to make, as a long time crocheter I can easily make the pie and a few birds in one day.
The pie can hold about 3 birds. The birds feet form a circle so they can perch on a pencil or tiny fingers.
