Blanket of Hope
This reversible blanket’s design is up to you! It is as easy or as complex as you choose to make it. The blanket, which looks the same on both sides, is comprised of distinct bands or sections. Each band is based on a 24-stitch x 24 row repeat pattern. The knitter can choose to follow a suggested design (the navy blanket in photos) or create their own unique blanket by choosing the bands they prefer. This blanket requires no complex stitching as it is just a matter of alternating knits and purls. Most of the band patterns are beginner level, very easy to remember, with a few band patterns more complex for a more experienced knitter to have fun with.
As you knit your blanket of hope, please think of the individual you are knitting for. As you knit each stitch think of positive memories, funny stories, future potential, and the difference that person has made to your life. As the blanket develops row by row, you will find serenity, positivity, and hope emerge. The blanket in the photo was knit for my husband as he fought the battle against metastatic melanoma.
Update: My husband passed away April 28, 2022 after a 27 month battle. Love you forever, Gregoire Elide.
