Poncho or Shawl Bleeding Heart
The inspiration for this pattern is a small brave plant from the garden, blooming in May/June, the Bleeding Heart. The plant is often used symbolically. It carries meanings like expressing your emotions openly, carry you heart on your sleeve, and being too sensitive for your surroundings, feeling compassion and unconditional love for everything in creation, and a connection that goes beyond life and death. Those meanings are all close to me. And then the most obvious meaning; a bleeding or broken heart. My heart will always bleed a little over the death of my father nine years ago. My heart broke again when I found out that a friend is fighting cancer for the second time. This friend was the inspiration for this shawl and poncho. Brave and tough, with lots of colour. Because not every one dares or wants to go for the big shawl, there is the smaller poncho version. This makes a good alternative. Just as colourful but a lot less hours to put in.

Necessities Poncho:
About 375 grams Kauni degrade wool in 4 different colours, and 250 grams white wool for knitting needle 4,5 mm, Kauni AA wool or two strands wool of the Ullcenter in Sweden, or similar.
Necessities Shawl:
About 750 grams Kauni degrade wool in 4 different colours, and 400 grams white wool for knitting needle 4,5 mm, Kauni AA wool or two strands wool of the Ullcenter in Sweden, or similar.

You can also choose to use only two colours, then you need for the shawl about 400 grams each for the basic and pattern colour, total of 800 grams and for the poncho about 250 grams each, total of 500 grams.

Poncho Gebroken hartje

De inspiratie voor dit patroon is een klein dapper plantje uit de tuin wat bloeit in mei/juni, het Gebroken Hartje. Het plantje heeft veel betekenissen. Betekenissen als het hart op de tong, gevoeligheid voor je omgeving, compassie en liefde voor alles wat leeft en een connectie die verder gaat dan leven en dood. Ze spreken mij allemaal erg aan omdat ze dicht bij mij staan. En dan de meest voor de hand liggende betekenis; het gebroken of bloedende hart. Mijn hart zal altijd een beetje bloeden vanwege de dood van mijn vader 9 jaar geleden en mijn hart is kortgeleden opnieuw gebroken toen ik hoorde dat een vriendin opnieuw het gevecht met kanker aan moet. Zij was dan ook de grootste inspiratie voor de Gebroken Hartje sjaal en poncho. Dapper en stoer en met veel kleur. Omdat niet iedereen voor zo’n grote sjaal durft of wil gaan heb ik de poncho versie gemaakt. Even kleurrijk maar minder werk.

Circa 375 gram Kauni Degrade wol in 4 verschillende kleuren, en 250 gram witte wol voor breinaald 4,5 mm, Kauni AA-wol of 2 draads wol van het Ullcentrum in Zweden of iets vergelijkbaar.
Benodigdheden Shawl:
Circa 750 gram Kauni Degrade wol in 4 verschillende kleuren, en 400 gram witte wol voor breinaald 4,5 mm, Kauni AA-wol of 2 draads wol van het Ullcentrum in Zweden of iets vergelijkbaar.

Je kunt ook kiezen voor 2 kleuren dan heb je van zowel de basis als patroonkleur voor de sjaal ongeveer 400 gram nodig, dus 800 gram in totaal en voor de poncho 250 gram elk en dus 500 gram totaal.

1 rondbreinaald maat 4.5 met lengte 120 cm en een extra lijn van 120 cm met een koppelstuk.
