Nothing says spring in the Northwest to me than when Bleeding Heart plants begin to bloom. Whether the smaller wild ones alongside a wooded trail or the larger domestic varieties grown in shady gardens. These plants with long arching leaves and small heart-shaped flowers provide a bright spot amongst the Oregon green. A bead has been added to each flower tip both to highlight the bleeding hearts inner white shade and a pearlized bead to mimic the dew that often settles on these flowers at night.

Yarn:
Cumulus by Fyberspates, (74% Baby Suri Alpaca, 26% Mulberry Silk; 164 yards/skein), (3) skeins in color 903 (Bottle Green) and (1) skein in color 907 (Magenta)

Finished Measurements:
Approximately 10” at the wide end and 82” long. This shawl is narrow at one end and wider at the other.

Gauge:
7 sc/inch (gauge is not critical, but this shawl looks best with a loose stitch)

Hook:
US G (4.0mm)

Notions:
(100) size 6 pearlized beads, (tear drop shape beads are used in the sample, but seed beads will also work)
