This hat is a recreation of one I made a long time ago for my partner. My daughter has since become a teenager, and has stolen the hat, but asked for one “exactly” like it in another colour. The recreation was a success, and so I’ve named the hat pattern after her!

I have knit this hat a few times using Malabrigo Washted (I absolutely love how the colours come out with the pattern stitch), and have always had about 5-10 grams extra. If you’re worried about running out, just make the fold up brim / ribbing section a little shorter, or start the decreases a little shorter.

Since the hat is ribbed, it will fit most adult and adult-adjacent heads, but if you want it to fit a little snugger, size down the needles by a size or two and use a slightly lighter weight yarn. Similarly, a larger hat could be knit using a heavier worsted or aran weight yarn and 4.5mm needles.
