Blessed Be Hat
CONSTRUCTION NOTES
The hat is knit in three pieces: the front brim, the back brim, and the body. The front and back brims are worked flat, and then attached to one another to construct the full brim. Then you pick up stitches around the top of the full brim to work the body of the hat in the round up to the top.
NEEDLES, NOTIONS & YARN
I used one pair of US size 5 (3.75 mm) straight needles to work the front and back brims, and one set of US size 5 (3.75 mm) double-pointed needles (dpns) to work the body of the hat. (You could reasonably get away with using the dpns to work the front and back brims instead of straight needles if you’re careful not to drop any stitches off the ends.) You’ll also need a tapestry needle to attach the front and back brims to one another, plus 6 stitch markers. The yarn pictured is one skein (220 yards/100 grams) Cascade Superwash 220 in Ruby, but any soft worsted-weight yarn would be suitable.
