Description
Blinding Lights is a seamless yoke sweater with a (optional) turtleneck, knit from the top down in the round using Aran weight yarn. Stranded color work motifs are worked on the yoke and sleeves. It is slightly oversized in fit, with regular sleeves and body length.

The sweater is designed to be worn with 20-30 cm / 8-12” of positive ease. I am modeling a size 4 sweater on a 99 cm / 39” chest, and I am 177 cm / 5’10” tall.

Approximately 6 (6, 7, 7, 8) (8, 9, 10, 10) skeins or 525 (577, 623, 672, 732) (796, 852, 912, 965) grams of Aran weight yarn. Sample uses Zakami 100% SW fine Merino (21 mic) (166 m /181 yards per 100gr) in color Hodr (soft yellow).
Contrast color 2:
Approximately 1 skein or 47 (52, 55, 58, 64) (70, 74, 79, 82) grams of Aran weight yarn. Sample uses Zakami 100% SW fine Merino (21 mic) (166 m /181 yards per 100gr) in color Juno (green).

Gauge
On larger needles over 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” in the round:
Stockinette stitch: 19 sts x 26 rows
Colorwork: 22 sts x 23 rows
Note on row gauge: it can be useful to measure your row gauge pre- and post-blocking, to understand how much your sweater will grow lengthwise after blocking. The pattern notes the length of a certain segment both in cm and inches based on the number of rows in the post-blocked row-gauge. However, many yarns will grow lengthwise after blocking so keep in mind that your pre- blocked garment might look shorter than the measurement given when knitting the correct number of rows.

Needles
Larger needles: 4.5 mm / US 7, or size necessary to obtain gauge.
Smaller needles: 4 mm / US 6, or 0.5 mm / 1 US sizes smaller than the larger needle.
Cord length is knitters preference, but keep the following in mind:
• Sleeves and turtleneck can be worked using the magic loop method for working small circumferences in the round or on DPNs.
• For the last rows of the colorwork it might be more comfortable to have a larger needle circumference in order to be able to spread out the stitches better.
