The Blizzard Chunky Messy Bun Beanie Set includes 2 crochet beanie patterns, one with a ribbed band and the other without. They are made with lots of texture and are chunky style messy bun/ponytail beanies that are very warm and cozy for northern winters. These are super quick and fun hats to make.

These messy bun beanies are made with Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn and you’ll need both an L (8.00mm) and an M (9.00mm) Hook to complete them. The patterns are worked bottom up and the tops of the beanies are created with a flexible open space at the top of the hat (no elastic) for hair to be pulled up through into a top knot style ponytail or messy bun.

The patterns are suitable for intermediate to experienced crocheters that have knowledge in how to work post stitches and the herringbone half double crochet stitch. There is a link to a quick video tutorial for the foundation half double crochet stitch technique which is used to begin the beanies.
