This Gansey inspired hat was designed on Block Island, off the coast of the state of Rhode Island, a place close to my heart.

I have used three traditional fisherman’s ganseys (Diamond, Ladder and Diagonal) and offset them with Front and Back cables to create this special ribbed hat.

If you get the gauge in Stockinette stitch, the patterns will work to a hat size of 19 to 23”.

This hat was originally knit in ATLANTIC yarn from the now closed but fondly remembered North Light Fibers, owned by Sven and Laura Risom. But any worsted weight yarn will work as well.
