This is a small, two-color shawl featuring both short-row and traditional shaping. The hyacinth pattern and garter furrows remind me of my Auntie Thelma’s garden. Blomstra is the Icelandic word for blossoms, which my Auntie’s yard was filled with.

Finished Size: 26” depth, 62” wingspan

Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Solemate (55% Superwash Merino wool/15% Nylon/30% Outlast Viscose), 425 yards/100 grams; or, any other fingering weight yarn. Sample knit with 55 grams Waistcoat (green) and 58 grams Curie (purple). This translates to approximately 250 yards of each colorway.

Needles: 32” circular needle, size 5 US (4.5mm), or size to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 20 stitches/30 rows per 4 inches in wet-blocked stockinette stitch; gauge is not critical for this item but will affect size, yardage used, and drape.
