Bloody Mary Cloche
Inspired by fashion from the 30s, Bloody Mary is a simple and elegant cloche embellished by an embroidered motif you can customise as you like. Instructions are written; a chart for the embroidered pattern as shown in the sample pics is provided.
The hat is worked bottom up;it is first shaped with short rows to give it the asymmetric shape and then worked in the round up to the crown.
Level: intermediate (short rows, chain stitch embroidery)
Sizes: S (circumference 53 cm- 20”), M (56 cm- 22”), L (58 cm- 23”)
Yarn required: approximately 120 (150, 180) metres of worsted/10 ply yarn
Note: the hat depth is coherent with CYC measurements for sizes, and calculated in order to cover the head down approx to half ear. If you wish to obtain a deeper hat, you can work the body section few rounds more than suggested in the pattern.
