Workflow: The bloom balaclava is worked from the top down. First a top square is worked up and then stitches are picked up along the edges and knit down to form the hood. Then the balaclava is joined in the round at the chin and the ribbing for the neck is worked up. A flower pattern is worked all across the balaclava using the stranded colorwork technique, or by embroidering the flowers on there afterwards with a duplicate stitch.
IMPORTANT: it is not explained how you have to knit with the stranded colourwork technique so make sure you know how to do it before starting this pattern. the pattern only explains where to start the flower chart etc…

Materials:
4mm circular needles (If you want. atighter neck rib, you can use 3.5 mm for the neck ribbing but I wanted it looser so I used 4mm all over)
2 colours of yarn, approx. 210 yards of yarn for both colours (for me this was less than 1 skein of malabrigo Rios and less than I skein of Kremke Soul wool merry merino 110 GOTS.
A needle to sew in ends
