This sleek bralette was designed for your body. The discussion around bralettes is often about the fact that there is a lack of plus size bralettes, and bralettes that can be worn with a bra. Enter: the BLOOM Bralette, a #SizeInclusive bralette with thick straps that can be worn with a bra while hiding the straps. You will find plenty of customizable elements including ease, bralette length, and strap width.

This pattern has truly all the information you’ll ever need to create a beautiful top. There is a whole page of customization tips (page 8), imperial and metric units, a detailed schematic and sizing chart, as well as instructions on how to make it in another yarn weight, if preferred. This design is different from a lot of crochet bralettes, in that you are not creating “cups”, but working side-to-side to crochet a short tank top. The tight ribbing allows for plenty of stretch, mimicking the effect of bust-darts by stretching across the fullest part of your bust while tightening at the rib-cage for a fitted bralette on all body types. Yarn: Fingering —Knits ‘N Knots Fingering in Hydrangea

• 80% Superwash Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon
• 435 yds (397 m) per 3.5 oz (100 g) hank
• Find this yarn on knitsnknots.shop

Substitute Knits ‘N Knots Fingering with any similar fingering weight yarn that matches gauge.

Yardage: 1 (1, 2, 2, 2) (2, 2, 2, 2) hank(s), or

Hook: Size U.S. F/5 (3.75 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: Tapestry needle, 1 locking stitch marker

GAUGE
4 x 4” (10 x 10 cm) = 29 sts and 18 rows in Half Double Crochet worked in the 3rd loop

For Swatch:
Ch 34.
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. 33 hdc
Row 2: Ch 1, hdc in first st (through both loops), hdc into the 3rd loop of next st and each st across to last st, hdc in last st (through both loops), turn.

Rep Row 2 until you have at least 22 rows worked. Block your swatch before measuring.

Measure the inner 4” (10 cm) of your blocked swatch to get the most accurate measurement. When measuring the stitch gauge, 4” (10 cm) should equal 29 full stitches; when measuring the row gauge, 4” (10 cm) should equal approximately 18 rows.

If you are having trouble achieving both the stitch gauge and row gauge, choose the hook size that gives you the closest row gauge. Since this bralette is worked in vertical rows, the row gauge is what determines the circumference of your top, and the stitch gauge is what determines the length. The length is easy to adjust by adding or subtracting from your beginning chain.

SIZING INFORMATION

The diagram on this page shows the finished bralette measurements. This top is designed to be worn with approximately 4 to 6 inches (10–15 cm) of negative ease.
When choosing a size, find the bust measurement here that equals approximately 4 to 6 inches (10-15 cm) smaller than your actual bust and make that size.

For reference, the model has a 34 inch (86 cm) bust and is wearing a size small with a finished garment bust measurement of 28 inches (71 cm), worn with 6 inches (15 cm) of negative ease.

Note: When choosing a size, it’s best to choose your true size, and then adjust the ease by working additional or fewer rows to the back panel, rather than sizing up or down.
