Say hello to the blooming barrel cactus. It makes a cute “house plant” that you never have to worry about watering. And you can customize the flower color to match your decor. Plus if you enjoy sewing it makes a fun pincushion to use or give as a gift. Simply change the stuffing out for a more pincushion appropriate filling. For some reason the thought of a cactus and sewing needles go together so well…

The finished size of the cactus is about 3 ½ wide by 3 ½ tall. (When not measuring the flowers)

yarn
● 8 Yards of yellow (or flower color of
your choice) sport weight yarn
● 12 (10 inch) pieces of white (or color
of your choice) sport weight yarn for
roots
● US H/8 5.00mm Crochet Hook
● 2.10mm Crochet Hook
● Size 11 seed beads
● Fine sewing needle and thread to
match bead size, OR Clear drying
craft glue
● Small pot or clear jar (4.3 inch
terracotta pot used in sample)
● Gravel/decorative rocks of your
choice (aquarium gravel used in
sample)
● Stuffing
● Darning needle
● Scissors
