Blooming Buds
The center of this doily was inspired by the dotted Kolam or Rangoli (popular in South India) worked by my mother using rice powder. She called it ‘Hrudaya Kamalam’ loosely translated as the heart of the lotus. It is her favorite Kolam to this day.
This pattern can be worked in any wt of thread. Gauge is not terribly important.
