A meadow full of blooming wild flowers is the ultimate embodiment of summer for me. This top mirrors that field of flowers with its lace yoke featuring the Estonian echo flower lace pattern – and wouldn’t it be beautiful to visit an actual blooming meadow in the heat of summer wearing this?

The lace yoke is worked bottom up from a provisional cast on, in order to make the flower lace turn the right way. Decreases are built in to the lace pattern and the stockinette stitch area above, and the neckline is finished with an i-cord bind off.
The provisionally cast on sts are then picked up again, and the rest of the top is worked top down for the body and sleeve trim.

Apart from a few short rows for neckline shaping, the whole sweater is worked in the round.

Yarn used: Isager Merilin (80% wool, 20% linen), 210 m / 230 y per 50 g.
held together with
Isager Bomulin (75% cotton, 25% linen), 208 m / 227 y per 50g.
4-4-5-6-7-7 skeins of each yarn. Colorway used: 0 (natural).
Actual approximate yardage needed of each: 695-820-965-1115-1280-1470 meters / 765-900-1060-1225-1410-1615 yards.
Note! Alternatively, you can use a single strand of yarn of approximately DK weight.

Needles: 4,5 mm / US 7 circulars, 80 cm / 32 inches.
3,5 mm / US 4 circulars for ribbing.
Optional: Double pointed needles in both sizes for upper yoke and sleeves.

Other: Smooth waste yarn, approximately Sport/DK weight, enough to work 4 rnds at the widest point of the yoke.

Gauge: Sample uses gauge of 17 sts & 26 rows to 10 cm / 4 inches in stockinette stitch in the round on larger needles and a strand of each yarn held together, after blocking.

Size: XS-S-M-L-XL-2XL, to fit bust of 74-84-94-104-114-124 cm / 29-33-37-41-45-49 inches.
Actual garment measurement, bust: 80-92-101-111-123-132 cm / 31.5-36.25-39.75-43.5-48.25-52 inches.
Recommended fit: 0-10 cm / 0-4 inches positive ease.
