Blooming Vines
I’m currently having trouble paying through Ravelry, my patterns can be purchased on Boosty (see the link in Source)On this site you pay for the post, it contains a PDF file with the English version of the pattern. I will also send you the pattern via Ravelry so that it will be saved in your library throughout the day. Sorry for the temporary convenience
Blooming Vines is a 3in1 pattern: you can choose to make it as a top, a tunic, or a dress!
Construction
The garment has a circular yoke, A-line silhouette and an optional elongated back. It is worked top-down in the round in 1 piece, predominantly in stockinette.
The pattern includes 3 garment & 3 sleeve lengths, that can be combined with each upon preference:
Garment length:
- Top (standard ~to pelvic bones)
- Tunic (~a bit below leg break)
- Dress (~to knees)
Sleeve length:
• Short (as shown in the sample photo)
• 2/3 (a bit below the elbow)
• Long (to the wrist)
It is is decorated with 2 panels of ‘Vines’ (bottom of the yoke, and along the hem) made with short-row shaping in garter.
Sizes
- 6 children sizes: 1-2 y.o., 3-4 y.o., 5 y.o., 6-7 y.o., 8-9 y.o., 10-12 y.o.
- 8 adult sizes for own bust circumference of 80-130 cm or 32-50” (sizes are provided with a 6 cm/2.2” step)
Yarn:
To achieve results similar to the pattern photo, use a slow gradient, using the opposite ends of the cake as contrast color for the decorative panels.
It is also possible to make it in solid/ variegated colors (see tester projects)
Due to the number of options in the pattern, I can’t list the amounts reuired per size, but the pattern includes a very detailed table on amounts reuired for all variations in each size.
The sample was knit in Scheepjes Whirl (60% cotton, 40% acrylic, 1000 m/1100 yds per 215 g/7.6 oz), colorway Blueberry Bambam. Size XS in tunic view with short sleeves used up ~85% of the cake.
Needles:
- 3in1Main: 3.25 mm/US 3 (or size to get gauge!) circulars on a 40-80 cm/16-32” cable;
- I-cord edging: 3mm/ US 2.5 (or 1 size smaller than the main).
Gauge (on main needles, measured per 10x10 cm/4x4” square after wet blocking)
* 25-26 sts by 35-36 rows in stockinette
