Crochet a beautiful blossom scarf; the open twisted stitch gives a gorgeous texture without being too heavy, and contrasts with the chunky bobble stitch to create a modern scarf.

You can choose add a dose of colour to your wardrobe and make it in bright contrasting shades or let the texture do the talking with just one colour.

The name came from both the colour and stitch choice; blossom is my favourite sign that spring is coming and the textured twisted lace stitch echoes the criss-crossing patterns created by bare tree branches, while the modern bobble stitch represents the appearance of new buds before they turn into blossom.

Skill level: Basic, you will need to know chain slip stitch and double crochet (US single crochet) stitches. Full instructions are given for the twisted and bobble stitches.

Materials needed:
4mm hook
DK wool in 3 colours (approx. 300 yards for A, 180 yards for B and C) or 650 yards of one colour.
Tapestry needle
Scissors

Finished size: 25m high x 130cm long (circular).

Pattern includes: Full written instructions in both UK and US terms, and step-by-step photographs. Note: you will need to know how to complete chain, slip stitches and double crochet (US single crochet) stitches.
