My little daughter loves to “play bubbles,” and although she usually spills most of it, she gets such joy out of dipping the bubble stick and trying to pop the bubbles when they land near her.

The tuck stitch featured in this hat creates nice little puffs that, when worked in a contrast color, look like little bubbles sitting on the ring of the bubble stick. What’s even more fun is that the tuck stitch pattern looks awesome on the reverse, giving you two styles in one!

Yarn
• Malabrigo Rios (Worsted weight; 100% superwash merino wool; 210 yds per 100 g skein); sample uses 1 skein each in Peachy and Water Green

Needles
• U.S. 7 (4.5 mm) needles for working in the round (circular, double pointed needles (dpns), one long circular for magic loop, two circulars, flexible dpns, as you prefer)

Note: you may need a second set of needles for working small diameters in the crown depending on your needle choice. Also, if you want a tighter brim, you’ll need needles one size smaller than your gauge needles as well.

Gauge
• 20 stitches and 36 rounds / 4 in (10 cm) in tuck stitch pattern, knit in the round, after blocking
• 22 stitches and 28 rounds / 4 in (10 cm) in stockinette stitch, knit flat, after blocking

Finished Measurements
• S (small): 7 in / 18 cm height x 16 in / 40.5 cm circumference
• M (medium): 8 in / 20.5 cm height x 19.25 in / 49 cm circumference
• L (large): 8.5 in / 21.5 cm height x 22.5 in / 57 cm circumference
