Blu Ivy is a great, easy to knit scarf that adds a little twist to your winter wardrobe. It is super long but the knit leaves add just that special touch to keep you wanting to continue on. The large swooping cable in the middle gives the leaves something to hold onto and allows the scarf to have a bit of texture.

Any yarn may be used to knit this scarf. I choose Lion Brand Fisherman’s wool and chose to dye it a bright blue color. If you select a worsted to bulky weight yarn it will be a super chunky and warm scarf. Knit it in a sock or lace weight for a lighter romantic version. Just change the needles to the yarn selected.
To close the scarf you can use buttons, shawl pins or pull one end through the openings of the cables on the opposite side.

Abbreviations:
K—knit
P—purl
Yo—yarn over
Ssk -Slip one stitch as if to knit, Slip another stitch as if to knit. Insert left-hand
needle into front of these 2 stitches and knit them together
K2tog -Knit two stitches together as one stitch
RC7- slip 7 stitches onto cable hook and hold in front, knit next 7 stitches, then
knit 7 stitches from cable hook
Dbl dec -Slip first and second stitches together as if to knit. Knit 1 stitch. Pass
two slipped stitches over the knit stitch.
P3tog -Purl three stitches together as one
c5 over 5 left-slip 5 stitches onto cable hook, hold in front of work, knit next 5
stitches. Knit 5 stitches on cable hook
C4 over 4 left - sl4 to CN, hold in front. k4, k4 from CN
M1 -Make one by lifting strand in between stitch just worked and the next
stitch, knit into back of this thread.
P5otg -Purl five stitches together as one
